Empowering Wellness

An informed patient is an empowered patient.

We believe that an informed patient is an empowered patient. Questions about our DPC model help us ensure that our approach—characterized by personalized, accessible, and transparent care—is perfectly aligned with your needs. Every inquiry you make drives us to continually refine our services and confirms that our direct, relationship-based care remains at the forefront of what we do. Your questions aren’t just welcome—they’re essential in shaping a system that truly puts your health first.

Medication Questions

What if I need medication the same day?

Our goal is to make your care as seamless as possible. If you need medication on the same day, simply reach out to our clinic as soon as you can. We offer flexible scheduling—including same-day appointments and virtual consults—to assess your situation promptly. Once we evaluate your needs, we’ll work to provide the appropriate prescription immediately, provided it’s safe and suitable for your condition. The medication will be prescribed to your local pharmacy for your convenience, and the cost of the medication will be deducted from your next month’s membership fee.

Can I use my insurance for medication that is not on the formulary?

Yes, you can use your insurance for medications that are not on our formulary. The medication will be prescribed to your pharmacy of choice, and any insurance transactions will occur directly between the pharmacy and your insurer—not through our DPC practice. We’re here to support you through the process and ensure you have access to the medications you need.

Does Primary Clinic prescribe opioids or benzodiazepines?

No, we do not prescribe opioids or benzodiazepines. Due to limitations imposed by the DEA and the constraints inherent to providing care via virtual services, our practice is not able to offer these medications. We prioritize your safety and adhere strictly to all regulatory guidelines while providing effective care.

What if I need more than 2 monthly medications?

For patients requiring more than two medications on a 30-day supply, there is an additional fee of $10 to $15 for each extra medication. This fee covers the administrative costs associated with processing your prescriptions. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.

What if I don't see my medication on the formulary?

If your medication isn’t listed on our formulary, please let us know. We’re always open to reviewing and potentially adding new medications to better meet your needs. Just reach out, and we’ll see if we can include it in our formulary.

Diagnostics and Imaging

How does Primary Clinic handle imaging services?

We’ve streamlined the process for your convenience by partnering with trusted companies like Radiology Assist. When imaging is needed, we send a referral directly to their organization, and they arrange testing at a facility close to you. The price is negotiated ahead of time, and because these are cash-pay arrangements, the cost is often lower than when using insurance. This approach helps ensure you receive high-quality imaging services at a more affordable rate.

How does Primary Clinic handle laboratory services?

We’ve partnered with Rupa Healthcare to simplify your lab testing process. Once your lab tests are ordered through their online portal, the requisitions are sent directly to the email address we have on file for you. Simply print the requisition and visit a Labcorp location near your home for testing. If a Labcorp location isn’t convenient, we can arrange for lab kits to be sent directly to you and provide a list of available mobile phlebotomists to collect your sample (please note that additional charges may apply for mobile services).

General Questions

Can I be seen for an urgent care visit?

Absolutely. We understand that health concerns can arise unexpectedly. For our members, urgent care is integrated into your comprehensive membership benefits. You have access to same-day or virtual appointments to promptly assess and address your health needs, ensuring continuity of care within our DPC model.

For non-members, we still offer urgent care services on a fee-for-service basis. You’ll have access to timely evaluations and treatments, although the experience may differ slightly from our full membership program. We encourage non-members to consider the benefits of our membership for a more streamlined care experience.

For more information on the conditions we treat, please visit our Sick Visit Care page. Our team is here to ensure you receive the necessary care when you need it most.

What time of the day are you able to respond to questions or portal messages?

We pride ourselves on prompt communication. Our goal is to respond to your messages within 4 hours during our operating hours, from 8 AM to 11 PM. Whether you’re reaching out for urgent care questions or any other inquiries, our team is dedicated to providing timely and attentive support. If you have an emergency outside of these hours, please contact your local emergency services immediately.

How does Primary Clinic address annual wellness visit via virtual services?

Our virtual annual wellness visits are designed to provide you with comprehensive, proactive care from the comfort of your home. During these sessions, we review your medical history, discuss current health concerns, and offer personalized preventative care recommendations. We utilize secure virtual platforms to conduct detailed consultations, and when necessary, coordinate follow-up lab work, imaging, or in-person evaluations to ensure you receive a complete assessment of your health. This approach allows us to maintain a high level of care while prioritizing your convenience and overall well-being.

How does Primary Clinic handle patients who need blood pressure and heart rate monitoring?

For patients undergoing treatment for conditions that require regular monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate, having a home monitoring device is essential. If you’re unable to purchase one, we can acquire a monitor on your behalf for a nominal fee. Consistent tracking of these vital signs is critical to your treatment plan. Please note that patients who decline to properly monitor these important vitals may be dismissed from the program to ensure the highest quality of care and patient safety.

Do you see patients on Medicare or Medicaid?

At this time, due to federal and state regulations, our Direct Primary Care model is unable to accommodate patients currently enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid. We truly appreciate your understanding and are happy to provide guidance or recommend alternative care options that may better suit your needs.

What conditions require an in-person visit with a specialist?

While many chronic conditions can be effectively managed through our comprehensive primary care services—including virtual consultations—there are certain situations where an in-person specialist evaluation is necessary. For example, conditions that involve advanced cardiovascular disease, complex diabetes complications, certain autoimmune disorders, and other cases requiring detailed physical examinations or specialized procedures may warrant a face-to-face consultation with a specialist. When such a need arises, our care team will work closely with you to arrange a referral to a trusted specialist, ensuring that you receive the most appropriate and coordinated care for your condition.

Can I pay for my membership with my HSA or FSA?

Yes, you can pay for your membership using your HSA or FSA funds. Our membership fees are structured to be HSA/FSA eligible, allowing you to take advantage of these tax-advantaged accounts for your healthcare spending. If you have any questions about eligibility or need additional documentation, please feel free to reach out to our team.

How does the sign-up process work?

Following your free initial consultation, if you decide to join, you’ll be sent a link to our patient portal via Charm EHR. Once you’ve logged in and set up your account, we’ll schedule your first visit and your first month’s membership fee will be due. After your payment is processed, you can schedule your first appointment—usually the same day or the next day.

How does Direct Primary Care services save me money even if I have insurance?

Even if you have health insurance, our direct primary care membership can help you save money. By offering a flat monthly fee for comprehensive primary care services—including same-day appointments, telehealth consultations, and discounted lab and imaging services—you can reduce or even eliminate co-pays, deductibles, and unexpected fees that often come with traditional insurance-based care. Our model is designed to streamline your healthcare experience, potentially preventing costly complications by ensuring timely and proactive care. Additionally, with the option to use HSA or FSA funds for membership fees, you can maximize your tax-advantaged savings while enjoying high-quality care.

What does my membership fee cover?

The membership fee includes unlimited consultations (video, phone, or messaging), routine labs, medications, and access to discounted imaging services. It’s designed to cover all your primary care needs.

Can I cancel my membership fee anytime?

We require a minimum 3-month commitment to ensure continuity of care, as medications are filled in 90-day supplies and membership includes routine labs during this period. After the initial 3 months, memberships are month-to-month, and you can cancel with a 30-day notice.

What ages do you serve?

Our Direct Primary Care services are designed for patients aged 13 and older. We believe that younger children benefit most from in-person visits with a pediatric provider who can assess their development, growth, and health needs through hands-on evaluations. By focusing on teens and adults, we ensure that our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of these age groups.

Enhanced Care Options

How does Primary Clinic address Men's Health?

Our men’s health services are designed to address a broad spectrum of needs, from routine assessments to specialized treatments tailored to men’s unique health concerns. For example, testosterone replacement therapy is one of the services we offer; however, it’s important to note that testosterone is a controlled substance regulated by the DEA. Its availability may vary by location, and in some cases, local regulatory bodies may require an in-person evaluation before prescribing controlled substances. We work closely with you to navigate these requirements and ensure you receive safe, effective, and compliant care for your health needs.

How does Primary Clinic provide gender-affirming care?

Our clinic is committed to offering compassionate and comprehensive gender affirming care as an integral part of our primary care services. We provide a supportive environment where patients can receive personalized care tailored to their unique needs, including hormone therapy, mental health referrals, and routine health screenings. Our experienced team follows best practice guidelines and collaborates with specialists when necessary to ensure safe and effective care. Whether you’re seeking guidance on hormone management, preventive screenings, or addressing overall health concerns, our integrated approach helps facilitate a seamless continuum of care in a respectful and inclusive setting.

Does Primary Clinic provider weight management services?

Yes, we offer comprehensive weight management services. Our approach includes the use of popular GLP-1 compounded medications alongside a range of other effective weight management modalities designed to support your health goals. Please note that our compounded services may occasionally experience interruptions, as GLP-1 medications are added to or removed from the FDA’s short list. We remain committed to keeping you informed and providing alternative options to ensure continuity in your weight management care.
